Sipunculans

The phylum Sipuncula comprises a small but distinct group of exclusively marine animals, with 17 genera and about 150 species worldwide. The British fauna is essentially that of European and Scandinavian seas. This small Synopsis covers the 12 species in 8 genera which occur in British waters (to a depth of 200 metres). The revised edition of this Synopsis has been updated on information regarding habitat, geographical distribution, taxonomy and nomenclature.
