This 8-panel fold-out chart is designed to enable you to identify lichens found on twigs and use them to assess local atmospheric conditions. Lichens are highly sensitive to subtle changes in environmental conditions, so are natural indicators of the health of our environment.

 

 This key indicates which lichens are acid-tolerant and nitrogen-tolerant and also indicates lichens that are associated with unpolluted sites.
